Description
Exploring and honouring the lives of 274 women who contributed to the rich history of the Bacchus Marsh district. Their births, marriages, children, visits to the goldfields, skills, occupations and arrival by sailing ship and more are recorded. Pioneer lives were rich in events and ideas. In 1936 Bacchus Marsh CWA planted a Pioneer Women’s Avenue to honour the districts pioneer women who were born or arrived here before 1870.
