This book contains a wealth of historical information concerning the Bacchus Marsh district and its pioneers.  It represents the valuable research work of the late Mr Williams, B.A., first published in The Express in regular instalments during the years 1913 – 17. Then follows an authentic record of early Bacchus Marsh, written by Mr Charles Hegarty, who contributed to The Express in 1929, using the nom-de-plume, “Pyrette”.  Also added is the important story of the ‘Bacchus family and some early history of Mount Blackwood.
