Description

On Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th 1990, the people of Bacchus Marsh joined with the Sisters of St. Joseph in recalling a truly memorable period of service in the provision of Catholic Education, both in this district and throughout Victoria. Four pioneer sisters began teaching in Bacchus Marsh in a small school in Fisken Street. Their convent was located in what is now called the Catholic School block in Gisborne Road. It was the second foundation of the Order of St. Joseph in Victoria.

This small booklet provides a brief summary of the events of one hundred years of Catholic Education in Bacchus Marsh. It is a fragment of the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph and their reverend foundress, Mother Mary MacKillop.
